FORM TWO LANES AND MERGE TO CENTER

Earlier I submitted a suggestion to eliminate the "zipper method" at construction sites where two lanes of traffic become one. I made the case in both the suggestion and in the comments that there is more to engineering than math. I made the case that when you add the human factor, that the benefits of the human factor outweigh the benefits of the math and engineering, and thus, the zipper method should be eliminated. ...more »

A GRAPHIC RESPONSE!

Road closures, ramp closures, single lane traffic, etc should be graphically displayed on a web site. Take the current north metro road construction mess. We should be able to go to a web site and see a very clear, very simple, "top down", color picture of the construction zone. TO HECK WITH THE ZIPPER METHOD! AND, MORE IMPORTANT.....

We’re Minnesotans! As a matter of principle we should not be teaching each other that it’s okay to be disrespectful of others by scooting ahead and not waiting your turn in line. Just because some engineer says that it is more expedient to traffic to be rude and disrespectful, doesn’t mean that expedience should win out over rudeness and disrespect.
